Your Voice @ UTAS

Stage 2 – Recommendations for Action

Three working parties were established in November 2009 to investigate the results of Stage 1 in more detail and to develop recommendations on University-wide actions to respond to the findings.   These working parties focused on the following areas:

  • Culture and Communications
  • People
  • Technology

Membership of each working party was deliberately chosen to represent diverse interests and provide differing perspectives; in most cases, this included a Dean, Head of School, an Academic Senate nominee, nominees from each of the Academic Staff Consultative Committee and the General Staff Joint Consultative Committee, a senior manager responsible for services in the relevant area, staff with specific expertise in the area, campus representatives and institute representatives. Each group had around a dozen members.

Each working party was charged with the responsibility of analysing the relevant findings from the Your Voice survey, investigating the issues, identifying relevant initiatives (including examples of good practice elsewhere) that may lead to UTAS solutions, reviewing current literature and developing recommendations for action within their areas of concern.

The working parties’ reports on recommendations for action are now available below for staff to access along with a summary overview prepared by the VPSG to accompany the reports.

Comments and feedback on the working parties’ recommendations were sought from individuals, groups and organisational units and have informed the development of a Voice Project Action Plan.
